Biathlon: Paula Botet in the big leagues!

In addition to her surprise but deserved selection for the next Olympic Games in Beijing (February 4 to 10), Bressaude Paula Botet, who is none other than the daughter of Véronique Claudel, Olympic biathlon champion at the Albertville Olympic Games (1992) , confirms day by day all the hopes placed in it. While she is having an exemplary 2021-22 season, being called up to the World Cup for the first time a few weeks ago, the 21-year-old biathlete competed in her very first world relay, alongside Chloé Chevalier, Justine Braisaz and Anais Bescond. Placed in third torchbearer, the Vosgienne perfectly met the expectations of the breeders. Despite a difficult first shot, she was able to recover on the prone shot, before coming close to the penalty on the standing shot, she perfectly caught up on skis by setting a better time than the Czech Marketa Davidova, winner of the small globe of crystal. A remarkable performance that will allow Les Bleues to take 3rd place and a first podium for Paula Botet. A good omen for the future!

Table tennis: satisfying weekend for Stivaliennes

The disappointment could be read on the faces of the players of Jérôme Humbert, at first, after the elimination in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, against Linz. At first only because, after the disappointment, it was time to realize that they had managed the feat of pushing the Austrians, reigning European vice-champions, into their entrenchment since they had to win the “extra time to qualify for the semi-finals, to the detriment of the ASRTT Etival players. Stivaliennes who were again on deck this Sunday, since they were playing their 9th match of the season in their Pro Ladies championship, against the bottom of the ranking, Schiltigheim. A meeting quickly folded since the players of Etival won (3-1) and at the same time regained the lead of the classification.

Volleyball: the Louves relocate to the podium

The victory was almost essential for the daughters of Manu Dumortier, who had to win to find the podium of their pool B of the Elite classification. After a perfectly mastered first set (25-15), the Louves suffered the awakening of the players from Saint-Laurent-du-Var, who hooked the local players. It was finally the Déodatiennes, in front of their audience at the Palais Omnisports Joseph Claudel (POJC) who managed to win (25-23), before a third set identical to the first and won by the Louves (25-16), which validated their victory (3-0). A full match that allows SRD Volley to regain 3rd place in the standings.

Nimes Olympic

A dynamic recovery. The Crocodiles trained this morning at La Bastide. But as this week their late match against Valenciennes will take place on Friday and not Saturday as a traditional Ligue 2 day, the players had “a dynamic session” in the words of coach Nicolas Usaï. However, it is without Julien Ponceau, sick in the night from Sunday to Monday that the Nîmes worked. Per Kristian Bratveit, the Norwegian goalkeeper, was also ill and should find his partners on Tuesday. As for Andres Cubas, hit in a fibula, he passed exams today which should say more about the duration of his unavailability. On the good news side, Anthony Briançon has resumed the race with Aurélien Boche, the physical trainer.

Ueda in selection. He is the only Nîmes to be called up for the international break despite the two late matches scheduled during this period. The NO central defender will have the opportunity to defend the colors of Japan in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Thus, Naomichi Ueda will miss the late matches with Nîmes Olympique against Valenciennes (January 28) and the trip to Pau (2 February). Two matches where the Crocos will also have to do without Cubas, injured. The Japanese will play two home games, the first Thursday against China and the second Tuesday against Saudi Arabia. The Blue Samurai (nickname of the Japan national team) are currently second in their group four points behind Saudi Arabia and one ahead of third-placed Australia. In this pool, the first two are qualified for the World Cup and the third must go through a jump-off.

Women’s Football Nîmes Métropole Gard

The Nîmes crack at the end. The small series of FFNMG (two games without defeat) ended this Sunday in Tarn-et Garonne. Facing the fourth of the pool, the Nîmes defended themselves well by opening the scoring in the first quarter of an hour through Fannie Da Cunha. Montauban then reacted with two goals (32nd and 40th). Not giving up, the players of Ludovic Gros equalized thanks to Candice Pognat (61e). At the end of the game, it was the local players who had the last word, definitively taking the lead fifteen minutes from the end. This defeat has no unfortunate consequences for the Nîmes since the red lantern (only place of direct relegation in Regional 1) Mérignac lost at home 4-0 against Evian-Thonon and the penultimate (place of play-off ) Le Puy was free this weekend. The next appointment for Nîmes is scheduled for February 6 with the reception, on the annex of Costières, of Mérignac. The bottom of the classification of group B of the women’s D2 is as follows; 8e Marseille 11 pts (10 games), 9e Nimes 9 pts (11 games), 10e Le Puy 6 pts (9 games) and 11e Merignac 1 pt (11 games).

Second to Saint-Raphaël. This weekend, USAM played a friendly tournament in Saint-Raphaël. After easily winning Friday night against Nice (Proligue) with a score of 32-26, Nîmes lost the next day in the final against the host team, fourth in the championship. A return to competition made with ten pro players absent including the two goalkeepers Desbonnet and Paul. The opportunity for the young Louis Gouazé to distinguish himself with 12 saves against Nice and 9 against SRVHB. It was also the first appearance in the green jersey of the Japanese rookie Yasuhira, author of 4 goals including 3 penalties during the first meeting and three others on Saturday. After two days of rest on Monday and Tuesday, the Usamists will return to Parnassus to prepare for a final friendly match against Saint-Raphaël on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The match will be open to the public on presentation of the vaccination pass, admission is free. Nîmes will return to the championship on February 4 in Cesson.

But nothing was easy against Vaulx-en-Velin who led by four goals at the break (13-17). It was in the dying moments that the decision was made with Enola Grollier’s winning goal 18 seconds from time and Typhanie Plee’s decisive save on the visitors’ last shot. With this 34-33 success, the Gardoises go back to sixth place in the standings, eight points behind leader Saint-Amand.

Launched at the same time as the Fēnix 7, whose design it takes up, the Epix Gen 2 sports watch is distinguished by its Amoled screen, for a more attractive display, at the cost of a few hours less autonomy.

Released at the time of the Fēnix 3, in 2016, the first Garmin Epix watch was distinguished by its LCD touch screen, its square format and the integration of base maps giving it in particular expanded capabilities for hiking.

Imposing, it took over all the functions of the Fēnix 3, making it a real robust multisport GPS watch.

Common design, very different screen

Six years later, as the market evolved, the Fēnix 7 also became tactile and capable of displaying base maps. So we had to find something else to distinguish this new Epix Gen 2, which incorporates all the features of the Fēnix 7. No rectangular format this time, the difference is in the display technology. The Epix Gen 2 indeed embeds an AMOLED screen instead of the transflective screen of the Fēnix 7.

The different colors of the Garmin Epix Gen 2. © Garmin

A much more discreet change in appearance, since the Epix Gen 2 takes over the design of the Fēnix 7. Unlike the latter, which is available in a more compact version (Fēnix 7S in 42 mm) and larger (Fēnix 7X in 51 mm), the Epix Gen 2 is only available in 47 mm format.

It thus incorporates a screen with the same diagonal as that of the Fēnix 7, i.e. 1.3 inches (3.3 cm diagonal). However, its definition increases significantly, from 260 x 260 pixels to 416 x 416 pixels, for better display finesse.

Much brighter, this screen can also remain on permanently, to the detriment of the autonomy of the watch.

Autonomy still high, but reduced

It is moreover on this precise point that the shoe pinches, since from 22 days for the Fēnix 7 Sapphire Solar in connected watch mode and up to 173 days in energy saving (with active solar charging), the Epix Gen 2 goes up to 16 and 21 days respectively. Their names are Caroline, Gaëlle, Flavie, Wiktoria, Cindy, Lysa, Fanny, Kassy and Amandine. They do athletics, dance, basketball or even swim. Through their performances or their commitment, all represent Brioude.

To highlight these sportswomen, a day is dedicated to them: Monday, January 24 marks the international day of women’s sport. The opportunity to highlight those that we talk about too little…

Wiktoria Michel, athletics

Receive our personalized Terre de Sports newsletter by email and find news and results for your favorite sports every Monday.

On December 5, Wiktoria Michel broke her personal best in the 3 kg shot put. With 11.92 m, she even won the Haute-Loire indoor record. This performance is the result of hard work over the years. “I have been doing athletics for ten years and I specialized 3-4 years ago when I was in minimal”, explains the 16-year-old high school student licensed at Cab.

The weight was obvious. “I’m strong and I have a lot of facilities, I started working on it early. She also opts for jumping and discus. “I’m at the same level in jumping and shot put,” she says.
To reach this level, Wiktoria Michel trains “between 7 and 8 hours a week”. To which must be added the lessons, the homework and the little ones that she trains on Saturdays and Thursdays. “I like to train them because I like to make people discover, to pass on. »

A dream of JO

She shows them the way. She, her example, is Kevin Mayer, Olympic decathlon vice-champion. “I watch what he does and sometimes, when I want to stop, I tell myself that he, even injured, he continued. The young girl dreams of the same goal as him: “to participate in the Olympic Games”. She knows there is still a long way to go, but she believes in it. “The work pays off: I have progressed more than a meter in 2-3 months, I was shocked at myself?! “A result that she would not have achieved without her coaches, including her mother, Géraldine Michel.

Caroline Chevalier, dance and fitness

It is part of the landscape. Since she was 16, Caroline Chevalier has been teaching. First in the gym, “in the heyday of Véronique and Davina”, without any real training. “There was no diploma yet,” she explains. I trained, I did an internship in the USA and at 18 I went back to the UGB dance school. At the same time, she gives gym and fitness classes.

Then came the time of the ASB where she saw many children and adults parade. “I made children dance for 33 years. I thought I would stop dancing in two years to slow down, but the Covid brought the date forward. » All that remains is fitness. “My only regret is not having done one last show with my students. »

A family of athletes

Whatever, Caroline Chevalier has not lost her good mood. Nor his love for sport. “I come from a family of athletes. My brother is a sports teacher in the army, my dad was a soldier and loved sports. I bathed in it. »
What she likes in this environment, “is being there for people, doing good to the body, to morale”. At 54, she is not ready to quit. “I work with all age groups, I like taking care of people. »

Thirty years of dance in Brioude, thirty years of happiness and memories with Caroline Chevalier (February 2018)

Flavie Filaire, swimming

At the age of three, Flavie Filaire was already in the water. “To learn how to manage, to know how to swim,” she says. Once the basics had been acquired, she signed up for synchronized swimming before turning to sports swimming about ten years ago.

Thanks to Cob training, “swimming helps me manage my stress,” says the 17.5-year-old high school student. With her synchronized experience, “the breaststroke is my favorite stroke”. She also does front crawl, butterfly… “but I go faster in breaststroke”.

A safe sport

What she likes about swimming, “is that it’s a reassuring sport, in the water you can’t hurt yourself”. Then there is versatility. “There are several strokes, several exercises with flippers, fingers… And does it muscle the whole body?! Flavie Filaire also loves competition. “Last year we had a big group, we talked about everything except lessons because we weren’t in the same high schools. It is also in competition that she sees that she is improving.

This season, traveling through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, “it’s complicated, I have less time because I’m taking the baccalaureate”. Next year, “I’m going to try to continue swimming once or twice a week, but the competition is going to be tough…” Especially if she manages to go into medicine, her dream. “Otherwise I would go to Staps”, to continue the sport.

Gaëlle Charre, cycling

“I have been cycling since I was little. As a teenager, it became a means of travel, of adventure. Time has passed and cycling has become a passion for Gaëlle Charre.

Thousands of kilometers swallowed

What she loves about this sport, “is that there are so many ways to ride a bike”. She practices it alone, with her children or accompanied by VSB licensees where she is registered. “When I’m on my bike, I forget everything. I pedal to keep my balance. If I don’t, I’m not well. »

On vacation or weekends, she swallows the miles. Two years ago, she rode for three days with the Donnons des Elles au Vélo club, which covers the stages of the Tour de France. “This year, I took a step with them. It’s incredible to ride with them, we encourage each other, we share… I like long distances. »

This passion takes up a lot of time for this teacher from Brivado. “My husband is very present, he helps me a lot. When they go on vacation or when they are invited to eat at Le Puy, he goes by car, she by bike. Logistical support appreciated.

Haute-Loire: what to remember from this sporting year for the Brivadois?

Amandine Chassonnaud, rugby

At 30, Amandine Chassonnaud is beginning “to be old”. Sportingly speaking, let’s be clear. So, as much as possible, she tries to pass on her knowledge to the youngest. “I give a hand to the rugby school and to the cadets”, explains the secretary of the SCB.

This female presence, in addition to two men, reassures some girls. And that’s good?! “We have a project at the club, that of having girls who feed the seniors. »

So to attract them and make them want to continue this sport, Amandine gives her time. “To know that there is a team of seniors, we have to show up. I like to transmit. »

Discovered in 2007

The young woman discovered rugby in 2007. “I came from Marseille and I had the choice between horse riding and rugby. As I like the collective, I chose rugby. In this sport, she likes “the atmosphere, being with friends, helping each other… It reflects the values that I have at the family and professional level. “Values that she wishes to teach to the youngest. As well as to the students of the agricultural college of Bonnefont where she supervises the women.

Cindy, Lysa, Fanny and Kassy Roziere, basketball

In the Roziere family I ask for the mother, Cindy, the eldest daughter, Lysa, the youngest, Fanny, the youngest, Kassy and the father, Thierry. Since September 2021, the entire family has been linked by the same sport: basketball practiced at Basket Ball Brivadois.

It was Cindy who discovered this discipline first. “I did from 6th to 3rd, then I stopped and started again in 2004 when my second daughter was born. She then passed on her passion to her three daughters “without forcing them to enroll,” she says. “With my husband, we forced them to swim because we wanted them to learn to swim. They didn’t all catch on. “For basketball, it’s another story…

The big ones lead the little one

With other mothers, Cindy disputed matches. “We all had girls of the same age. At half-time they played together, they tried to dribble, to score baskets… It obviously played into their desire to play basketball. »

Today, the whole family gathers around the orange ball. Better still: the big ones even train the little one! “They don’t want to change,” slips the mother, quite proud of her daughters.

And that’s not all: at the Rozieres, we are fully committed to the club and the sport. Lysa, 19, is an official referee, in addition to helping with coaching. Fanny, 17 and a half, is also a club referee. Kassy, 14 and a half, is following in the footsteps of her sisters. “She hopes to do like them soon, sometimes she even replaces the referees when we need them. »

Weekends between basketball and football

Family weekends are busy. “I am the seniors 1, Lysa’s team, I manage to follow Fanny’s matches a little and for Kassy, in 70% of cases, I manage to do it too. Fortunately, there is a week to rest, ”she jokes. And again… “You have to prepare for training. Added to this is the position of the father, Thierry, president of the Fontannes football club.

When the matches are interrupted, especially during the holidays, there is no question of taking a break. The basketball hoop installed at home rarely stays quiet. “The girls play together, it strengthens their bonds. »

On the occasion of Ski Force Pro, the professional ski testing event organized by Union Sport & Cycle in Méribel, the latter and the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône-Alpes took the opportunity to renew their agreement initiated for two years in 2015. A renewal signed in the presence of Laurent Micol, director of the corporate mountain agency of Caisse d’Epargne Rhône-Alpes; Dominique Serrano, director of the Maurienne Tarentaise group of Caisse d’Epargne Rhône-Alpes; Morgan Redouin, President of the USC Mountain Commission; Julien Gauthier, vice-president of USC.

This partnership reaffirms Caisse d’Epargne Rhône Alpes’ commitment to mountain and ski industry professionals. Strongly established in the Alpine furrow and with players in the sector (ski lifts, communities, companies, craftsmen, traders, etc.), it fully plays its role as a regional cooperative bank, a strategic partner for players in the economy, by supporting their growth. and their transformation.

The USC, for its part, wishes to take advantage of this partnership to continue to work to promote mountain players and to organize unifying events for the sector. Two months before the next gathering of the Blues, Moussa Diaby and Corentin Tolisso have burst the screen in the Bundesliga, unlike Jordan Veretout who seems to have suffered a blow from “Soft” at Roma.

Diaby sparkles

The little wisp of Leverkusen Moussa Diaby scored his first hat-trick in the Bundesliga on Saturday against Augsburg (5-1), taking his total of goals to eight in the Championship this season.

Acclaimed by the 750 spectators authorized for this meeting, the 22-year-old pocket striker (1.70 m) remembered the good memories of Didier Deschamps, who has already offered him four selections.

“The coach noticed my attacking qualities. With my speed, I can cover a lot of the pitch and I often give assists”, says this left-hander trained at PSG, who claims to be inspired by Lionel Messi. His challenge now is to improve his defensive work.

“He is a young player and today he showed us all his qualities”, enthused his teammate Karim Bellarabi, “it was a great day for Moussa, we are happy to have so many young players with talent”.

Tolisso on its way

Match after match, Corentin Tolisso continues to find his bearings with Bayern Munich, taking full advantage of the unexpected playing time offered to him by the absence of several competitors in midfield since the end of November.

On Sunday, he had an excellent performance alongside Joshua Kimmich. The former Lyonnais opened the scoring against Hertha Berlin (4-1) with a superb oriented diving header. He had even scored a nice goal after just one minute and a half of play, but the VAR intervened to signal a knee-wide offside.

His rage over the celebration of his goal (scored from a center by Kingsley Coman) shows how happy Tolisso is to finally find his level and a place in this team. Bought in 2017 in Lyon, the Frenchman had never really managed to win in Bavaria. His contract expires at the end of the season and no extension proposal has yet been made public.

Veretout needs a breather

Real midfielder for Roma for two seasons, even better giallorosso passer this season (with 6 “assists”), Jordan Veretout seemed to be overtaken by fatigue in recent weeks. We saw him far enough from his performance at the start of the season (three goals in the first two matches) which opened the doors to the France team.

Sunday at Empoli, he even started on the bench for the first time this season in the league, entering only for the last quarter of an hour when the match was folded (4-2 for Roma). This should have already been the case the previous week had it not been for the warm-up injury of designated starter Lorenzo Pellegrini.

José Mourinho, on January 15, had admitted that the ex-midfielder of Nantes and Fiorentina “has not been at the level of what he is capable of doing in recent matches”. While ensuring that there remained “always important” for Roma, despite the arrival of a serious competitor in his position, the Portuguese Sergio Oliveira (already author of two goals in two matches).

Saturday, “Mou” denied that Veretout could leave for the transfer window, as mentioned in particular by Corriere dello Sport.

Ben Yedder, strong head

Without his friend Kevin Volland, sick, Wissam Ben Yedder struggled Sunday in Montpellier, unable to prevent the 3-2 defeat of Monaco. The captain gave hope to his people, quickly led 2-0, by reducing the gap with a header on a delicious cross from the French international Aurélien Tchouaméni (34th). Not enough.

On a personal level, “WBY” has had a thunderous start to the year 2022, apparently untroubled by its recent contamination with Covid-19. This month, the former Toulousain and Sevillan has piled up 4 goals and 2 assists in just 3 matches: a goal and an “assist” in the Coupe de France against Quevilly-Rouen (3-1), a double and a “ pass” against Clermont (4-0), in addition to his last achievement in the Hérault.

The Monegasque center-forward dominates the ranking of top scorers in Ligue 1 with 13 goals, one more than Lille’s Jonathan David. In all competitions, he peaked at 18 goals and 5 assists in 32 matches.

To celebrate a commitment to sport that dates back almost 100 years, Intersport returns to our screens with a new advertisement. The chosen music is a soundtrack by the group D*time entitled “Inner Dome”.

The 2022 Intersport “Committed to sport” advertising campaign

Intersport, a sports brand, but also a cooperative wanted to pay tribute to all its players. Customers, but also employees play an essential role in the brand’s commitment to a society more inclined to the practice of sport. Intersport thus appealed to theagence Marystone to promote the spirit of sport and develop it at all levels. Because through sport, we manage to create links and bring people together.

The advertising movie Intersport “Committed to sport” begins with images of several people preparing for their sports activity. We thus discover a man, up at dawn to prepare a smoothie while stretching. He is then joined by his companion and they share the preparation, each in their own bottle.

The ad takes us on a discovery of the Intersport teams through two of its sites in France. Intersport Montaigu (85) and Machecoul (44). We also discover the atmosphere within a sports association, that of Entente des Mauges (49). Finally, we follow one of its directors during his nocturnal jog. The brand reiterates its commitment to sport at the end of the spot, stating that it is the latter who did it.

What is the music of the Intersport 2022 ad

The music that we hear throughout the Intersport ad “Engaged for sport” is taken from a song by the Dutch group D*time and which is called « Inner Dome ». The title is taken from the album of the same name released in 2021. The song can be found on Deezer.
